Useful e-mail addresses for your address book

Useful e-mail addresses for your address book
I have already shared the top five helpful e-mail addresses that you should always keep in your address book. Today I will like to share a few more.
  • A very useful e-mail address is smartphones@mailchimp.com which makes possible for you to enhance the look of your screenshot. All you have to do is to send the screenshot of your mobile to the above address and your device will automatically get detected with the help of the EXIF date and the file will be e-mailed back to you after adding the enhanced device frame. Your screenshot will look even more beautiful.
  • If your phone lacks a dictionary and you are in desperate need of it, just sending a blank mail to wsmith@wordsmith.org with “define myword” as the subject.
  • If you are in use of Pocket as a Read Later Service the e-mail address add@getpocket.com will be very helpful for you. Save video, weblink and any URL you need by just sending it to the e-mail. The only problem is that one link is allowed per mail. The link has to be given as the body of the letter and not in the subject line.
  • Having problem to manage your tweets from your not so sophisticated mobile? Just use trigger@ifttt.com where you can send your Tweets through e-mail. But you have to connect your IFTTT account to your Twitter account. Use #twitter in the subject line to post your e-mail body as a Twitter update. Attached pictures can also be posted I your Twitter account. So no need has expensive mobiles with Twitter apps any more.
  • For uploading your files to Dropbox, Google Drive, or Sky Drive through email, you have secret@emailitin.com. Again, you will need IFTTT as it can be done only through IFTTT recipes. For using your cloud storage device you have EmailItIn.com where you can send any files through e-mail to your cloud drive. This is a paid option, though the free version allows file up to 5mb.
  • You may not know that your Kindle Reader has a unique e-mail address which only accepts documents and not any web links. But through secret@readability.com you can send web links and read it at your convenient time.

Hope this information will be helpful and you will have these email addresses on your phone’s address book. You never know when they will come handy even if you already have a high end smart phone.

The Top 5 Most helpful Email Addresses for your Address Book
There are many email addresses which can be very useful to have in your address book. You can use them to publish content or upload anything to your favorite websites even if you possess only a basic phone i.e. a phone without any apps or even a web browser. All you need to have is the basic e-mail program. So writing tweets, converting documents, uploading to dropbox, posting videos, using the dictionary, making a Google search and many more tasks can be performed using some e-mail addresses. So these addresses should be stored in your address book. Even if you have a modern phone, these addresses come handy in certain places where social media are restricted and you cannot use them directly.
  • If you have a blogger blog (blogspot) then to publish a new post, all you have to do is to send a e-mail to secret@blogger.com. The e-mail will get published as a new post to your blog. It supports maximum 10mb of post at a time.  The address is located in your Blogger Blog under mobile and e-mail settings panel.
  • As usual this facility is also available for Wordpress users through secret@post.wordpress.com. Here also the subject line acts as the title of your post while the body and attachment will be the post content. Additionally, by using short codes you can schedule your post and add tags to your post. You can find the e-mail address in My Blogs part of your account dashboard.
  • Uploading video to YouTube is also possible through e-mail program secret@m.youtube.com and the address can be located in the account settings section. All you have to do is to e-mail the video after attaching it to your mail and a confirmation sms or e-mail will reach you shortly. So your phone will no longer be a hindrance in uploading your favourite videos to YouTube.
  • Similar to Blogger your Flickr account gives you similar feasibility by providing an e-mail address secret@photos.flickr.com. How to create an attractive and modern graphic design

How to create an attractive and modern graphic design

Graphic designing is an interesting aspect and one may think of doing his/her own graphic designs. But to start with it, one must keep in mind few basic ideas so that things do not fall apart at the beginning. I will like to share few simple tips to help you out to start producing your very own graphic designs. I am sure you will start making beautiful graphic designs in the near future by simply following the below mentioned guidelines. So lets start.

Choosing the right color scheme

Choosing the color scheme that matches with the best concept you have in mind is very important. A good concept always needs the right color as that will be the first thing that will attract your customer. There are few common themes that you can use across every design at the beginning.

Selecting the right font palette for your design

Picking the right font for your project is definitely one of the most important criteria for a successful design. Titles, headings, subheadings and body text, all must be in proper fonts matching with the theme of your project. Once you achieve this, the half of the job is done. Try to choose simpler fonts for your body text and something which stands out for headings.

Use of framing and grids in images

Images play an important role in your design and it is always a bright idea to keep the images in proper frames or grids, instead of keeping them exposed. Of course it is not always possible to use a frame, but try to use as far as possible. This will give your design a more professional outlook.

To make your designs stand out, always try to use a contrast

It is very essential to use proper contrast to make your design stand out. This can easily be done by using contrasting colors for the background and the fonts and for any other graphics you are using. A light background should have dark fonts and vice versa. It is simple as that.

Simplicity always wins

There is always a tendency to punch in as much of great graphics, fonts and images in a single design as options are plenty and it sometimes gets extremely difficult to choose from a wide range of ideas. This puzzle often makes us using unnecessary items in a single design making it cumbersome.  So try to use as bare necessary items for a single design. Using everything must have a reason. The use of bare minimum types of graphics, fonts and images will ultimately produce a simple yet elegant design. Simplicity always wins.

Book Review: Private India: Ashwin Sanghi and James Patterson

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
I must first thank Blogadda for providing me the opportunity to review this book. I am an Ashwin Sanghi fan and when I saw the opportunity I readily applied for it and got overjoyed once I was selected. But I must admit that Private India to some extent disappointed me. The book is no way can be called a trash, and quite a page turner indeed. If this book has been written by an amature I would have given 5 out of 5. But this is written by Ashwin Sanghi and James Patterson and I do have extremely high expectations from them which they surprisingly unable to keep. So in this case I will give only 3 out of 5.
The plot of the book is quite ordinary and at times devoid of logic. Of-course it is a fiction, but still the lack of reasoning in a few instances baffles me, especially when you consider it is an Ashwin Sanghi creation who is the master of creating a logic in fiction. His earlier classics (I have read all of them) are so well researched. The plot is based on a series of murder performed by strangulation using a yellow scarf and solving the mystery by “Private India”, an International private detective agency.
The Indian Police readily agree to let Private India handle the case. Never heard of this type of attitude in any country. Private detectives only investigate a case either along with the police or separately, (in fiction also including all the famous fictional private detectives around the world) but never do police stops their own investigation just because a private detective agency is handling the case just because of long backlogs of cases (that too for a series of murder investigation).
The book has pace, no doubt, but the storyline lacks enough spice to make the final punch. The book is too one dimensional (again, unlike Ashwin Sanghi) with lack of depth in the characters. The perception of India is also not very well portrayed (may be contributed by James Patterson as I could not think of Ashwin Sanghi making them). The book is just like a fast bowler having pace, but no swing or an action packed, fast paced movie without much of a story and logic.
Having said this I must agree that it is by no means unbearable (as I have already mentioned that it is not trash). Private India is a good fast paced action thriller, but I cannot rate it as a top notch action thriller. May be the extreme high expectation that I have on Ashwin Sanghi played a part. The Classic Sanghi is truly missing. I sincerely hope things will fall back to normal in his next creation and I will be able to enjoy it with full satisfaction as I have done with his previous classics.

Overall, it is a good read (not exceptional) and many may enjoy the book if they ignore the loopholes a bit. But all the Ashwin Sanghi fans will get somewhat disappointed. Eagerly waiting for other classics from Ashwin Sanghi.
